2nd Indonesia Research Day Panelist: Laura Gransbury

Laura is currently studying her BA at Adelaide University, majoring in Indonesian Studies and minoring in Indigenous Studies. She will be attending Universitas Gadjah Madah in Yogyakarta for first semester 2016 to complete her degree. As she only started learning Indonesian this year, she took herself to Yogyakarta for two weeks intensive study at Wisma Bahasa. Indonesian is Laura’s fourth language, as she is also fluent in French and conversant in Chinese.
Planning to Master in Conservation of Cultural Materials, Laura is fascinated by the art and textiles produced in Indonesia and their ties to Aboriginal art in Australia. In particular, she is passionate about batik, both the production thereof and the cultural uses.
