3rd Indonesia Research Day Panelist: Emily Rustanto

Emily Rustanto is a researcher and curator. She studied Ethnomusicology at the Indonesian Institute of Arts in Yogyakarta in 2005-06 and 2008-09 and has lived in Central Java and Central Kalimantan. She has a Master in Liberal Arts (Museums and Collections) from Australian National University. Emily is currently teaching into the topic Indonesian Musical Cultures at Flinders University, and has taught many gamelan workshops there for schools. She plays with several gamelan groups in Adelaide and sings too. Emily believes music and the arts are important to the health of individuals and societies.
